Types of Braces

Types of Braces
Thanks to today’s technology, patients now have more options than ever when it comes to wearing braces. While regular metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are becoming increasingly popular. In addition, removable appliances can be used for cases of mildly misaligned teeth.

Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most common type. They are made of high-grade stainless steel. Today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive than ever before.

Clear Braces
Ceramic braces are made of translucent material, which allows them to match the color of teeth closely. They are most popular with adult patients due to their cosmetic appeal, but many younger patients choose them as well. The only drawback to ceramic brackets is that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Invisalign
Invisalign is a series of clear trays that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system can be used to treat many orthodontic problems, all of which require patients with fully erupted dentitions.

When we remove your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. The retention phase lasts for a minimum of 24 months. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with the hard work you've put in so far. Remember to remove your retainer before brushing, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth.
