Your First Visit
On your first visit, we will gather information about your medical and dental history, and find out your orthodontic concerns and/or the concerns of your general dentist. The orthodontist will then evaluate your smile and bite, after which various treatment alternatives and estimated costs will be discussed. Treatment possibilities can vary from minor limited tooth movement requiring as little as two to three months, to full comprehensive treatment requiring two years. At the initial consultation, we will provide you with a lot of information, discussing various different treatment options and treatment modalities that can be personally tailored to your needs… and the visit is complimentary!
If it is determined that treatment is in order, we will take study models (dental impressions) in our office. We will also refer you to a dental laboratory, where necessary radiographs and photographs will be taken.
Your orthodontist, in consultation with his partner, will study these diagnostic records and formulate a plan of treatment. Their recommendations, as well as financial information, will be discussed in detail with you at a follow-up consultation appointment.
